On Thursday 23rd January Paul O’Connell, officials from Aldi and our local Rugby coach Colm McWeeney visited the school to tell us the great news that the school had won top prize of €50, 000 in the Aldi Play Rugby Sticker promotion. We were delighted. What an amazing start to a new year and new decade at St. Joseph’s N.S.
The €50, 000 must be spent on sporting facilities at the school. Invoices will be sent to Aldi and officials will visit the school at a later date to see what we spent the money on. While the BOM will have the final decision as to how this prize will be spent suggestions are welcome from pupils, parents, staff and members of the community.
A very big ‘Thank You’ to Aldi for this fantastic prize. A very big ‘Thank You’ to all the parents that shopped in Aldi, collected the stickers and send them into the school. ‘Thank You’ to all the pupils for sticking all the stickers on the 8 posters we entered into the competition and ‘Thank You’ to the teachers for facilitating this.
